  • Knitting for Beginners – Technique Class
    If you have never held a pair of needles in your hands or if you are looking to freshen up your skills, sign up for this class. We will teach you everything you need to get started on a long and satisfying knitting career. This is a 2-session class and each session is 2 hours … We will cover casting on, knitting, purling and binding off. Min – 2 Max - 6

    Materials: Light color worsted weight yarn that is wound and ready to knit and US7 or US8 needles.

  • The holy grail of KnitKnit classes is back … Kris’ famous sweater class!
    Sweater Adventure at the STUDIO

    Here are the details: you pick your sweater pattern and Kris will guide you through 8-weeks of yarn selection, gauge, fit, pattern adaptation, finishing techniques, everything you need to knit yourself a beautiful sweater … THAT FITS!!! This is an 8-session class and each session is 2 hours. Intermediate to advanced knitting skills are required for this class. Max – 8.

  • Toe Up Socks at the STUDIO
    Have you always wanted to knit socks … here is a chance to learn. You will learn the Turkish Cast On, how to turn a heel and the Stretchy Bind Off. This is a 3-session class and each session is 2 hours. Basic knitting skills are required for this class. Max – 8.

    Cost: $65 and the yarn and pattern are included.

  • Basic Techniques at the STUDIO
    Are you ready to take your knitting to the next level? This series will help you build your knitting skills and your confidence. Each session you will create a practice swatch and tackle a different technique – Lace, Cables and Two-Color Knitting. This is a 3-session class and each session is 2 hours. Basic knitting skills are required for this class. Max – 8.

  • Turkish Bed Socks – Project Class
    These are like potato chips …. You just cannot stop after one pair!! This is a classic Churchmouse pattern featuring a unique sock construction. You will be using the Magic Loop technique to knit this project. This is a 2-session class and each session is 2 hours. Intermediate knitting skills are needed for this class. Min – 3 Max - 8

    Materials: Churchmouse Turkish Bed Sock pattern, 175 yards of a fingering weight yarn and US3 circular needle - 32” long, markers and tapestry needle.

  • Cabled Mittens – Project Class
    Mittens for all the naughty kittens in your life …. Or maybe just a pair for you. This great pattern features a classic cable and a perfect thumb gusset. This is a 2-session class and each session is 2 hours. Intermediate knitting skills are needed for this class … We will be knitting in the round, purling, decreasing, casting on, cabling and reading a chart. Min – 3 Max - 8

    Materials: Sydänmaa Mittens pattern by Hanna Levaniemi, worsted weight yarn and US4 DPNs, markers, cable needle, tapestry needle, highlighter tape and a row counter.

  • Knitting Socks on Tiny Circular Needles – Technique Class
    Tired of fiddling with DPNs or Magic Loop? Two at a time just not for you? Here’s your chance to learn how to knit socks from the toe up entirely on one adorable 9” circular needle! Included in this class are techniques on how to custom fit your socks using a provisional cast-on, folded toe, gusset and heel flap, and twisted rib cuff with a stretchy bind off. This is a 2-hour, three-part class. Intermediate knitting skills are needed for this class – sock knitting experience is preferred.

    PLEASE NOTE: This method is not recommended for knitters who suffer from arthritis, hand or joint immobility, or hand/arm injuries. Knitting socks on a 9” circular uses smaller tools and finer range of motion than most other techniques. Just like anything else, knitting on small needles for the first time can cause some strain on the hands and forearms until proper technique and familiarity are established.

    Materials: Fingering weight yarn, size 2US/2.75mm 9” circular needle or size to obtain gauge, waste yarn for provisional cast on, crochet hook

  • Knitting in the Round (Barley Hat) – Project Class
    This class will introduce you to knitting in the round and all the possibilities that come with learning this technique! You will also be using the Magic Loop method for the top of the hat. This is a 2-session class and each session is 2 hours. Advanced Beginner knitting skills are needed for this class … We will be knitting in the round, purling, decreasing and casting on. Min – 3 Max - 8

    Materials: tincanknits Barley Hat pattern, worsted weight yarn and size US6 and US8 circular needles - 16” long, US8 circular needle – 32” long, markers and tapestry needle.

  • Two-At-A-Time Fingerless Mitts – Project Class
    Learn how to avoid the dreaded “single sock” syndrome! This class will introduce you to knitting two-at-a-time in the round, a time-saving technique for socks, gloves, mittens and slippers – anything that you need two of. Instruction in Magic Loop and constructing a thumb gusset will also be provided. While learning the techniques, you will make a pair of fingerless mitts. This is a 3-session class and each session is 2 hours. Advanced Beginner knitting skills are needed for this class … We will be casting on, knitting in the round, purling, increasing and binding off. Min – 3 Max – 8

    Materials: Simple Fingerless Mitts by Tinks, 150 yards of a DK yarn, US4 circular needles with 40”cable, US4 circular needles with 24” cable, stitch markers, row counter and a tapestry needle.

  • Different Ways to Knit in the Round – Technique Class
    This class will introduce you to knitting in the round and the many ways you can knit in the round. We will be using DPNs, 2 circulars and Magic Loop. This is a 3 hour 1-session class. Intermediate Beginner knitting skills are needed for this class. Min – 3 Max - 8

    Materials: Worsted weight yarn, US8 DPNs, and US8 circular needles – 16” and 32”.

  • Reading Charts/Lace Cowl -Project Class
    This spiffy little cowl will introduce you to reading charts and what all those Xs and Os really mean. This is a 3-session, 2 hours per session class. We will begin with casting on, reading and understanding the chart, the second class will provide you time and assistance with fixing any mistakes that might have happened, finally we will be seaming your finished project and giving you some blocking tips to give your cowl that polished look. Intermediate Beginner knitting skills are needed for this class. Min – 3 Max - 8

    Materials: 150 yards of worsted weight yarn, US10 needles, tapestry needle and highlighter tape.

  • Ornamental Stitches Sampler Scarf – Project Class
    This fun class will be using The National NeedleArts Association booklet called “How to Knit”. You will be creating a sampler scarf focusing on textures, stitch variations and design choices. This is a 3-session class: planning and casting on, progress check and troubleshooting and binding off and blocking. Min 3 – Max – 8 Materials: How to Knit booklet, worsted weight yarn and US8 needles, markers and tapestry needle.

  • Socks at Your Speed – Project Class
    This is something new for KnitKnit …. A self-paced sock class. You buy a 3-class punch card (each class is 1-hour) and schedule dates and time with Sandy to work through your sock. Essentially, we see this as the first class is casting on, class #2 is about turning the heel and the final class is about decreasing for the toe and seaming with the Kitchener stitch. Please note there is a time limit for this punch card – 3 months from the date of purchase.

Classes are limited in size and are filled on a first-come, first served basis. To sign up please call us or stop by the shop where the class is being held.

All classes and workshops require payment in full upon registration. Students must call 48 hours in advance if they are unable to attend a class and may rebook for another class or receive a store credit. No refunds are issued for missed classes. If we cancel a class, you’ll receive a full refund.

We do not offer make-ups or credit for missed classes. Out of respect to your instructor and classmates, we kindly ask that you be on time.

Classes begin promptly at the advertised time. Please arrive a few minutes early to make sure you have the necessary supplies. Yarn sold in a hank or skein must be wound into a ball before class.

Yarn and other supplies for all classes are available at KnitKnit, the Studio and can be purchased any time before the class begins. Just make sure to leave yourself plenty of time to fondle all the yarn. Registered students receive 10% off all class supplies.
